Trapping Since I was Seven Years Old

I began trapping in 1963, when I was seven years old. My father paid me a nickel for each mouse I trapped in our farm buildings. Immediately, I saw the value of animal control -- and the potential for earning some extra cash!

Pretty soon I got interested in trapping muskrat, and started trapping a marsh just up the road from our farm, using 12 traps.

Fox was next, but I couldn't find a trapper to teach me about fox trapping.

Then came beaver. I bought a 330 and set my first pond. Two days later I had my picture taken for the town newspaper -- with a 75# beaver!

Then came this otter. I've had a life-long love of trapping ever since.
